The COPAS Biosort is located at the Dept. of Biosciences and Nutrition in the C. elegans facilities of Thomas Bürglin and Peter Swoboda. The department is located in the Novum research building (see map below), which is in the Flemingsberg section of Huddinge community, 15 km south of Stockholm. To travel there by public transport, take the commuter train (pendeltåg) from Stockholm Central station (Stockholm C) to Flemingsberg station. A few long-distance trains also stop at this station, so from Gothenburg or Malmö you do not necessarily have to first travel into Stockholm. By taxi you drive to Hälsovägen 7, Novum. There is also a small public parking there with fee. A big free parking lot is on the other side of the Flemingsberg station for commuters.
The Web site of the public transport in Stockholm is www.sl.se. There you can find maps and prices, e.g., the map of the Pendeltåg. You can buy short time tickets (Travelcards) for 24 hours, 72 hours, or 7 days for 115, 230, and 300 SEK, respectively (as of Jan 2013). To use this, you buy a so-called SL Access card (20 SEK for the card) that will be loaded when you buy a card. One can also buy Zone tickets (pre-paid strips ) with 16 coupons for 200 SEK. A trip from Stockholm C to Flemingsberg is 3 coupons. In one day one would need 6 coupons per person to travel to Flemingsberg and back. Note: this pre-paid strips will expire 31. August 2013, a new system with Access card will be introduced. Single tickets can also be purchased (50 kr for a one way trip between Stockholm and Flemingsberg), but only at major stations, not on buses (they take no cash, you have to have a ticket). Some stations have ticket vending machines, but prices are more expensive (a single 3 zone trip is 72 kr).

Accommodation info (Note: this is not an endorsement of any facility):

The area closest to Novum, where you can find accommodation, is right in Flemingsberg, across the street from Novum and the hospital. The Attendo Park Hotell is located in convenient walking distance from Novum.

The next closest location to Novum is in Alvsjö, where Stockholmsmässan (Stockholm international fairs) is located. This is three stops away from Flemingsberg by pendeltåg. There are four hotels there:
Connect Hotel Stockholm
It might be difficult to find rooms there during fairs, so you might try hotels or hostels in Stockholm in general, though closer to the main train station (Stockholm C), or Stockholms södra, would be more convenient for taking the commuter train.

During summer holidays (After midsummer to about middle/end of August), you will often find reduced hotel prices and good deals.
For finding hotels in the Stockholm area, you can use your favorite web sites.
